Adjective: A word that describes a noun (person, place, or thing):

Examples:

huge, green, beautiful, hungry, arrogant, young, sick, happy, noisy, American, automatic, old-fashioned, fresh, windy. For our purposes, adjectives can also be forms of verbs if they're describing a noun: an animated film, a lost child, shredded cheese, a dying man, a smiling baby)
